I don't quite understand why we as women have to compete with one another. Aren't we all beautiful? Have strong character? Don't we all have grace? So why is it when we try to come together there is a spark of jealousy. Is it because of the shades? Or the jobs? Or how our lifestyles are? See this is all due to society once again. We all want the best for ourselves as well as our family. Yet, whether it is a family reunion or just out in life we have all kinds of stereotypes about our lifestyles. Whether, we are vegan, meat eaters, perfer to be natural or prefer the status of everyday life. It is what we all want to decide.
I know that some of it has to do with seeing if we are good enough to compete with other women who are of different geographic backgrounds or not. Men preferences with White, Hispanic, and Asian can really damper spirits with every Hebrew woman. For one thing, we have strong personalities. This is NOT a negative thing. I stated in my blog before about this being a positive quality because God had made us this way. Remember, He loves strong women. However, because of the typos in the Bible, the men think that we are suppose to be submissive which is what many want because they want to be able to do what ever they want without being questioned. Yet we fry our beautiful hair to make it straight and get all of these clothes within fashion. Trying to get our men to notice.
That's not the only thing that we battle. We also battle the fact that many bash us for being the so called "ugliest" women. Now, how is that? If that was the case, than why in the world are they messing with us in the first place. Remember my sisters, you all are trendsetters. Whatever we see as beautiful or fashionable, someone is going to copy it. We all met someone who has copied after us before. That is nothing new. However, because of all this negative energy that is aimed directly at us cause us to try to show and prove to society what we are all about. We don't have to prove anything. They can think whatever they want. At the end of the day, we all know the Truth about us.
This stereotype is quite annoying. The "Black Women are Welfare Cases". That is the biggest lie ever told. We work hard all of us. We work hard to make sure we have food on the table, help secure the family, plan trips, and we go to great lengths to hold it down even when the man of the house is going through a lot of stress. We support our families, our friends and everyone we care about. That is apart of our make up. We work harder than any other woman world wide. The problem is the society doesn't want to help us because they are busy wanting to help the popular minority if they can help it. So that is a lie. More than anything, we DON'T want to depend on anyone ever when it comes down to our own personal affairs.
So regardless of the stereotypes, we need to support each other and stop trying to compete due to the society requirements. Forget their requirements. We will never fit in with it from the beginning. We are not suppose to fit in. So lets not get jealous of one another and have ill will towards one another. We need to raise each other up. As far as having a support system of just us women, no one is going to really support each other. We are all we got.
Forget the dark skinned vs. light skinned thing, what does that got to do with it. Deep down we are all Spirit. It's about our character and what we stand for. Not the shade of our skin. That's just another way to divide. We all stand for family, unity of our people, security, faith, love, trust, equality, inner beauty and independence. Those are our top qualities. Not all of this Egyptian philosophy of what we have and what we look like from the outside defining our character. We are built from the inside out. Not the outside in. So let's support each other. We don't need to compete with each other at all.
Remember, God made us all equally and we are all important in His Eyes. We don't need to worry about anything. He made us: Smart, Brave, Courageous, Strong, Independent, Full of Wisdom, Loyal, Protective, Beautiful, Full of Soul, Artistic, and Full of Heart. We are beautiful just the way we are. We don't need a big six figure salary, a massive house, and tons of plastic surgery to define us as beautiful and fantastic character. No one has to look like Beyonce and have money like Oprah just to feel important. Those people have the most miserable lives and low self-esteem. We should just be ourselves not matter what and let our character and presence speak for us.
Peace Sisters.
