I wanted to talk about how we are One. It's true. We are. No just us doing what we do best but for our communities and nature that surrounds us everyday. We have to be aware of our surroundings because our ecosystem is what helps us stay alive.
See we look at our fellow countries like we don't have anything to do with them. So when a natural disaster happens, we look around and say, " Well that's over there" or "what does that have to do with me or us". It has a lot to do with us. What effects one area effects all areas. We have to be conscious about this. That way we can be proactive when things happen. Not just with natural disasters but also with crime rates and our communities as well.
See as "minorities", we live mostly in the suburbs, urban and rural areas. Its already hard for us to live in standard living so look what happens when a natural disaster happens:
Hurricane Katrina |
Haiti Earthquake |
Super Typhoon Haiyan |
Ebola Outbreak in Africa |
All of these places have been effected but because it didn't happen in our current location, we are most likely to ignore it. Why is that? I never could fully understand the logic in that. They are our people too. They live and have families and work hard to survive like we are. Everyday there is a struggle and we are very strong people to go through the things that we been through and still strive. All of this by the Grace of God. We are strong people when we stand alone but we are even stronger if we stand together. So why don't we come together and treat each other like family.
